The Kansas State Technical Assistance to Brownfields (TAB) Program, in partnership with the Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy (NDEE), and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 7, invite you to attend a free two-day grant writing workshop to learn about writing a successful EPA Brownfield Grant application to address your blighted properties.
Subject matter experts and seasoned grant writers will deconstruct the EPA grant guidelines into manageable “bites”, provide helpful hints and tips how to approach each of the required sections, step you through interactive exercises, and introduce you to helpful resources to make your application stand out. You will walk away with a “to-do” list and timeline for your community’s grant application and will be ready to write a competitive application.
Day 1 topics: what to do before you apply- key steps to complete; eligibility; importance of partnerships; what data do I need?; project area description; community need.
Day 2 topics: reuse planning; project tasks; how to structure your budget; measuring progress; programmatic capability.
Who should attend? Nebraska local, regional, and tribal government officials and their grant writers, not-for-profit entities, and other eligible applicants interested in applying for an U.S. EPA Brownfield grant.
