Join KSU TAB, EPA Region 7, HUD, and USDA to learn about the fundamentals of applying for federal grants and hear tips and tricks from successful grantees. 

Webinars will be held every Thursday for 3 weeks from October 26 to November 09, 2023. 

Session 1: Nuts and Bolts of Writing a Federal Grant Application, Demonstration of EJScreen

Held - Thursday, October 26, 2023 

This session will summarize key steps to the federal grant application process and identify best practices, as well as provide a demonstration of EPA’s EJScreen Tool. Attendees will learn how to address key grant application components, such as community needs and goals, budget, community engagement and partnerships, and measuring results.  

Session 2: Environmental Justice, EPA Grant Program Overviews and Grant Recipient Panel 

Held - Thursday, November 02, 2023 1pm CT

This session will consist of an overview of EPAs Environmental Education, Environmental Justice, and Brownfields competitive grant programs with special emphasis on how to address environmental justice. Successful grantees of the respective grant programs will share tips and insights for writing a good grant proposal and how to overcome application obstacles. 

Session 3: Federal Partners Grant Program Overviews and Grant Recipient Panel 

Held - Thursday, November 09, 2023 1pm CT

This session will introduce the competitive grant programs of USDA-Rural Development and HUD, as well as EPA’s Job Training grant program. Successful grantees of the respective grant programs will share tips and insights for writing a good grant proposal and how to overcome application obstacles. In addition, hear from the Heartland Environmental Justice Center and KSU TAB about their programs and how they can assist in grant writing.
