Armed with a USEPA Brownfields Assessment Grant through the East Central Indiana Regional Planning District , the Environmental Justice League consisting of neighborhood leaders, the deputy mayor, and the YMCA has been formed to engage residents in three neighborhoods to solicit input on sites, neighborhood reuse visions, and equitable community participation in the revitalization of their neighborhoods. KSU TAB services have included attending monthly meetings in order to draft a Community Involvement Plan as well as presenting a series of trainings to assist the neighborhood leaders in the EJL to effectively inform residents, establish trust, and encourage ownership of the projects in their area with assistance from our KSU TAB Partner, Revitalized Communities.
