Roundupland: A strategy game for planning public space along the Musselshell River
Roundup, Montana Community Engagement

2 8th Avenue W
Roundup, MT 59072
United States

When the community of Roundup, Montana wanted assistance prioritizing ideas and planning for public space along the Musselshell River, KSU TAB Assistant Director/Region 8 Manager Maggie Belanger and KSU TAB Partner Professor Blake Belanger put their heads together and developed an engaging prioritization strategy game, named Roundupland. Guided by Maggie Belanger and KSU TAB’s Mickey Hartnett, community members collaborated with tablemates to place colored stickers on the Roundupland game board to reflect where specific uses should be incorporated into the area. Each sticker represented one acre and the different colors represented different elements of public space opportunities. Roundupland (and the visioning event) was a huge success and has given the community of Roundup a plan for creating the riverfront public space of their dreams.
