A brownfields assessment (BA) is an assessment that evaluates and documents environmental conditions at a brownfields site. A BA may consist of a phase I site assessment; asbestos and lead-based paint surveys; a phase II site assessment; analysis of cleanup alternatives; or an area wide inventory.
