Tuesday, November 19th, 2024, 1:00pm-6:30pm MST
Day 1: The first day of this workshop is designed to inform Montana communities about the steps that come after a
brownfield site is assessed. Topics will include: Analysis of Brownfield Cleanup Alternatives (ABCA), How to Find a
Cleanup Contractor and Issue RFPs, State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) Consultations, Community Relations
Plans, and How to Identify Other Sources of Funding.
 

Wednesday, November 20th, 2024, 8:00am-5:00pm MST
Day 2: The first half of the second day of the workshop will continue Day 1's discussion of brownfield cleanup, including
Cleanup Checklists and Best Practices, How to Comply with the Build America, Buy America Act, an Overview of
Common Cleanup Methodologies, How to Market Your Site for Developers, and How to Talk to Elected Officials about
Brownfields. During lunch, we will transition to a conversation about Environmental Justice and Brownfields Programs,
followed by a training on the Brownfields, Abandoned, and Dilapidated (BAD) Buildings Program established by West
Virginia University's TAB program.
 

Thursday, November 21st, 2024, 9:00am-12:00pm MST
Day 3: Special Invitation Only. The final day of the workshop with focus on MT DEQ's Government-to-Government Environmental Justice grant program. Participation on Day 3 is only open to recipients of the grants.
