Event Overview
Join KSU TAB, MT DEQ, and EPA Region 8 for a free brownfields workshop in Helena, MT! Participants will have an opportunity to refresh their brownfield basics and learn about federal brownfields legislation, state and federal resources, and redevelopment best practices from a combination of case studies and technical assistance experts. Through interactive discussions and real-world examples, this event will encourage collaboration, mutual learning, and relationship building to advance brownfields work in Montana.
Agenda highlights include:
- An introduction to new Montana brownfields funding
- An overview of the history of CERCLA
- Expert advice on how to deal with "empty lot syndrome"
- Case studies on successful cleanup and redevelopment projects
- How to establish and manage an RLF
- And much more!
This two-day event will take place on Thursday, April 9th and Friday, April 10th after the MEDA conference. This event is targeted towards Montana communities, but much of the information is broadly applicable.
